DESCRIPTION
Viagra 100mg – blue, rounded diamond shaped tablets marked VGR 100 on one side and PFIZER on the other.

WHAT VIAGRA IS USED FOR

    • Viagra is used to treat erectile dysfunction, commonly known as impotence in men. Viagra will only work if you are sexually excited and will not increase your sex drive.
    • If you are unsure why Viagra has been prescribed for you then talk to your doctor.
    • Viagra is not for use in women.

DO NOT TAKE VIAGRA IF:

    • You take any Nitrate medication.  Nitrate medications are often prescribed for angina (chest pain) or other heart conditions.  Nitrate medicines include glyceryl trinitrate and come under a number of trade names therefore it is very important to check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are on any other prescription medications.
    • Allergic to any medicine containing sildenafil, or any of the other ingredients as listed above.
    • Allergic to other similar medicines also used to treat erectile dysfunction.
    • You have heart or blood vessel problems.
    • You have had a heart attack or stroke in the last 6 months.
    • Severe liver problems.
    • Unusually high or low blood pressure that is not effectively being treated.
    • Loss of vision in one or both eyes from non arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy.
    • Eye disease retinitis pigmentosa.

BEFORE YOU START TAKING VIAGRA TELL YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU HAVE OR HAD ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

    • Heart or blood vessel problems
    • Sudden loss of eyesight in one or both eyes.
    • Diabetes, especially if you also have eye problems.
    • Kidney or liver problems
    • Leukaemia
    • Multiple myeloma
    • Any disease or deformity of your penis
    • Any bleeding disorder such as haemophilia
    • Stomach ulcer
    • Sickle cell anemia
    • Colour vision problems
    • Previously experienced sudden decrease or loss of hearing
    • Any other medical conditions
    • Taking any other treatment for impotence

TAKING VIAGRA WITH OTHER MEDICINES

    • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines including prescription medicines, vitamins, herbals or other medicines purchased without a prescription. A check will need to be made to make sure there are no medication interactions.
    • Do not take Viagra with nitrate containing medicines.

HOW TO TAKE VIAGRA

    • Follow all directions given to you by your doctor or pharmacist carefully. If you are unsure ask your doctor or pharmacist for help.
    • Your doctor will tell you what dose of Viagra to take.
    • Do not take more than one dose of Viagra per day.
    • Take your dose of Viagra about one hour before you intend to have sex

IF YOU TAKE TO MUCH VIAGRA
Immediately call your doctor, after hours medical centre or poisons information centre on 0800764766 for advice.  Alternatively go to the nearest accident and emergency after hours clinic or hospital.  Do this even if you are experiencing no signs of poisoning.

SIDE EFFECTS

    • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any of the following and they are worrying you:- headaches, dizziness, flushing, indigestion, nasal congestion, diarrhoea or rash.  Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience any visual disturbance or dizziness.
    • Tell your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following occur:- unusual heart beat, stinging/burning or urgency in passing urine, blood in urine, blurred vision, blue colour to vision or greater awareness of light, persistent headache or fainting, nose bleeds.
    • GO TO HOSPITAL IN CASE OF allergic reaction, breathing difficulty, swelling of face, lips or other parts of body, chest pain, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, seizure, erection continues for more than 4 hours or is painful, loss of eyesight.
    • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice anything else unusual when you are taking Viagra.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

    • Store Viagra in its original labelled package in a cool dry place below 30 degrees C.
    • Keep out of reach of children.
    • Return any expired or unwanted medicine to a pharmacy for safe disposal.
